Returning bigger and better for 2019, the ever-popular Gladstone Harbour Festival will once again connect the community and reel in visitors from all over Australia for unmissable family-friendly entertainment, waterfront markets and an explosive fireworks display at the picturesque Gladstone Marina.
Held over the Easter weekend, Gladstone Harbour Festival is one of Queensland’s biggest events during autumn which has been an ongoing annual occurrence since its inaugural event in 1963. Over the last five decades the festival has only grown in size, and it now celebrates an annual attendance in the tens of thousands.
The 2019 Gladstone Harbour Festival will mark its 57th event, and the five-day program is all set to be the best yet. Visitors can expect plenty of kids’ rides, good food and an atmosphere bursting with street entertainers, markets and live family-friendly shows. There’ll be quality entertainment each night at the GPC Marina Main Stage, a vibrant selection of must-have purchases and good food at the Marina Markets, and a wide array of thrilling attractions as well as kids’ rides and workshops at the Australia Pacific LNG Kids Zone.
Gladstone Harbour Festival is also known for its incredible fireworks, and this year there’ll be four explosive displays to light up the harbour. Each night there’ll be a brand new fireworks display concluding with a spectacular finale that’s guaranteed to be send off this year’s festival with a bang!
On top of fantastic entertainment, markets and fireworks, visitors will get to witness the yachts arrive in Gladstone for the iconic Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. The race occurs annually on Good Friday, and sees the country’s best yachters embark on a flagship ocean yacht race from Brisbane, through Redcliffe and the Sunshine Coast, to Gladstone Harbour for a total distance of 308 miles. The Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race was established in 1948, and is now one of the highlights at each Gladstone Harbour Festival.
