An action-packed week of live entertainment and activities for under 17s!
Don’t keep the kids at home this summer - get them involved in the upcoming Festival of Summer, taking over the Gladstone Region in January with three huge festival events boasting live music, creative activities, youth attractions, good food and lots more.
The ultimate youth event for the school holiday!
Gladstone Festival of Summer 2021 will be made up of three equally unmissable parts - the FOS Opening Festival, FOS Days of Summer and the Festival of Summer Sounds (FOSS) - lasting six consecutive days in total with plenty to enjoy, do and learn in multiple locations across sparkling Gladstone QLD.
So you know what the kids can look forward to, here’s a rundown of what Festival of Summer Gladstone has in store for summer 2021!
Festival of Summer will launch things off with the Opening Festival - a FREE event for all ages that will take over Gladstone Aquatic Centre on Tank Street for one whole afternoon of live music by the outdoor pool.
Expect youth performances, fun inflatables in the pool plus mouth-watering food to tuck into - Festival of Summer Opening Festival will take place on January 10 from 1 pm to 4 pm, and isn’t to be missed for the perfect way to kick off the main summer program.
Straight after the Opening Festival, Days of Summer invites youths between 11 and 17 years to get active, hone their skills and learn a new thing or two with an action-packed activity program lasting FOUR days across Gladstone Queensland.
What activities? We’re talking filmmaking, art, yoga, surfing, modelling and drone flying, plus thrilling activities to blow off steam that will include fast cart racing, slacklining and gel blasters. For kids and teens with energy to burn, this summer school holiday program has it all, taking place from January 11 to January 14.
Going out with a bang - Festival of Summer Sounds will end the week-long program with a 4-hour indoor concert for 13 to 17-year-olds, to be held at the iconic Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on Goondoon Street near the Marina.
Gladstone Festival of Summer Sounds will feature headlining QLD indie-pop outfit Jack Botts and The Dreggs, plus more artists to be announced. Food, non-alcoholic drinks and youth-designed concert merchandise will also be available all night.
If that's not enough, there will be a special 18+ Festival of Summer Sounds on the following night, also featuring Jack Botts and The Dreggs with an exciting line-up of local Gladstone artists and performers!
Festival of Summer Sounds concludes Gladstone Festival of Summer 2021 on January 15 from 5 pm to 10 pm.
